The increase in infrastructure development in Indonesia provides quite large opportunities for the use of girder beam products, especially type (PC-I). In girder beam structures with a type I (PC-I) cross section with a span length (L) greater than 45m, it is prone to horizontal deflection problems (lateral deflection). This lateral deflection generally occurs during the process stressful and during the transportation process (facelift).

The innovation carried out by the Engineering, Research & Development (ERD) Team to reduce lateral deflection was by changing the dimensions of the cross-section of the PC-I Girder, namely by innovating the slenderness ratio between the product length and the cross-sectional dimensions. By widening the upper flange of the PC-I Girder cross section, so that it looks like a Semi T profile. This change in dimensions increases the inertia of the Girder cross section, especially in the lateral direction so that the Girder can be erected without assistance. Stiffener.

This product innovation has been used in the Bekasi-Cawang-Kampung Melayu (Becakayu) Section 2A Toll Road Construction project, the Cibitung-Cilincing Toll Road Construction project, the South Jakarta-Cikampek 2 Toll Road project, and the Kapal Betung Toll Road Construction Project, Palembang.
